Alpaca Gold Garden Creations

Alpacas produce pellets that are similar in shape to rabbit pellets, but a little larger. The herd usually chooses a spot in the field that serves as a communal poop pile. Of course, babies (crias), being what they are, have little respect for the 'pile'!

At Blue Stone, we scoop/shovel for 'gold' twice a day and deposit the 'gold' in a compost pile. This is later spread on our garden, and has enhanced our flowers, orchard and vegetables in a truly amazing way.

After we purchased our property, we cleared the forest and marked out the garden. Then we started adding our 'alpaca gold'. We have not added any topsoil or any other items to our garden! It is truly a pleasure to see the results of this very mild and long lasting compost.

Martha Washington was never so lovely.  The butterflies were rarely away!

The peonies took o1 year to get established.  When they finally bloomed, they took our breath away!
